The CBD industry is more successful than ever before, and it’s been predicted that it’s only going to grow in the coming years.  With that success has come a slew of companies looking to make a buck off of the trend, and some companies produce better, more effective CBD products than others.  That’s why it’s crucial that you as a consumer consistently educate yourself on CBD so that you can figure out which product is best for your unique needs.

If you don’t know where to start, we’re gonna give you the basics regarding the different types of CBD products out there so that you can determine which products are going to be the most beneficial to you.  We’ll also explain the importance of knowing how different products work and what they’re used for so that you can find the relief that you deserve through the magic of hemp.

Not All CBD Products are Created with Quality in Mind

As you may already know, the CBD industry is still in the process of getting regulated by the FDA.  This means that a lot of companies are getting away with selling low-quality products that aren’t actually capable of addressing consumers’ needs.  A lot of brands are known to use cheap fillers that water down their CBD extract, which means that they’re not really effective enough to provide results.  And, these companies can currently get away with putting “CBD” on their product labels regardless of how the CBD was sourced and how much is actually in the product.

Hence why it’s up to you as a consumer to know what to look for when it comes to choosing the right brand.  You have to go with a brand that’s trusted and that can verify the purity, quality and potency of their product.  Always research a company before choosing them as your CBD brand of choice.  And, read the ingredient lists on the labels of products before purchasing to make sure that there’s nothing questionable in the formula.

Lab Results Provide Answers, if You Know How to Read Them

One thing that many CBD companies do to prove their legitimacy is display lab results on their website.  These lab results are extremely helpful as they break down the purity, quality and potency of their product, as well as the unique terpene profile that’s in the product.

The thing is that you have to learn how to read these lab results by researching the different terminology that they contain.  This can help you know for certain that the product that you’re getting is suited for your needs.  And, by learning about the benefits of different terpenes, you’ll be able to finetune your purchase in a more precise way.

Different Methods of Administration Produce Different Results

As you’re already aware, the CBD industry offers a wide variety of products for customers to try.  You can find CBD vape oils, topical creams, oral tinctures, capsules, edibles and more.  The CBD market is only expanding, which means that as time goes on, even more products will be available for consumers.

The thing is that different products produce different results.  For instance, a CBD vape oil takes effect within minutes, but the effects are short-lived.  This can be useful for someone dealing with the sudden onset of a symptom or ailment such as a panic attack.

Meanwhile, CBD edibles can take up to an hour to take effect, but the effects can last for several hours.  This type of product is excellent for someone who is dealing with a chronic problem such as arthritis.

It’s up to you to learn about the different methods of administration.  The form in which you consume your CBD has a lot to do with whether or not you’ll actually find the relief that you’re after.

The Strength Determines Everything

CBD products are available in different strengths, and the strength refers to the concentration of CBD that’s in the product.  As you can imagine, the higher the strength, the more potent the product, and, therefore, the more likely it is to be effective.

Many first-time CBD users decide that hemp doesn’t really work because they purchased a product that had a strength lower than what they needed in order to experience results.  The truth is that everyone’s body is different, and different people need different strengths in order to benefit from CBD.  The strength that’s right for you is determined by the severity of your symptoms, the size of your body and the unique way in which your body processes cannabinoids.

It’s a good idea to read up on different strengths of CBD and how they affect people differently.  This way, when it’s time to pick out a product, you’ll know exactly what strength you need in order to experience relief.

CBD Isolate vs. Broad Spectrum vs. Full Spectrum

As you know, the CBD market is full of a variety of products.  Just to make things a little more confusing, there are actually different types of CBD extracts used to produce these products, and they’re all pretty different from each other.

The three types of CBD extract are CBD isolate, broad spectrum and full spectrum.  CBD isolate is an extract that contains nothing but the CBD compound.  It’s extremely potent, but it’s missing some of the other compounds that are beneficial in their own unique ways.

Broad spectrum CBD contains CBD in addition to all of the potentially beneficial plant material found in the hemp plant, with the exception of THC.  In the hemp plant, you’ll find that THC makes up about 0.3 percent of the chemical composition.  This is not nearly enough to make a person feel high, but some people prefer to do without it regardless.

Full spectrum CBD is the most popular type of CBD extract because research indicates that it’s the most beneficial overall.  Full spectrum CBD, as the name implies, contains every compound found in the hemp plant including THC.  Again, the THC is not strong enough to produce psychoactive effects, so you don’t need to worry about it making you high.

Full spectrum CBD is so popular because of the entourage effect that it provides.  It’s believed that when you consume all of the plant material at once, the benefits of each compound are multiplied, resulting in a more effective product overall.

Decarboxylated vs. Raw

Another thing to take into consideration is whether you want decarboxylated CBD or raw CBD.  Most brands produce decarboxylated CBD products, but it’s still worth noting the difference.

Decarboxylation is a process that involves applying heat to the hemp extract.  This “activates” the compounds so that they’re more potent, and, therefore, more effective.  However, some argue that this process damages some of the beneficial compounds in the hemp plant.  Therefore, some people prefer raw CBD because they believe that it contains certain benefits that are lost when the plant is heated.

Hemp and Marijuana are Two Different Plants

It’s also important as a consumer to note that hemp and marijuana are two different plants.  Basically, both of these plants belong to the cannabis family, and they’re considered brother and sister to each other.  If you’re in a state in which recreational marijuana use is legal, you may find lots of CBD products that come from the marijuana plant.  Now, if you purchase one of those products, you have to know that it’s illegal to possess or consume it outside of the state in which it was purchased.

Meanwhile, CBD that comes from industrial hemp is legal across the country.  It’s up to you to educate yourself on the marijuana laws in your state as well as the differences between marijuana-derived and hemp-derived CBD before purchasing a product so that you don’t get into any trouble with the law.

Clinical Studies are Helpful

Lastly, we recommend educating yourself on CBD by looking through all of the clinical studies that are available today.  This way, you’ll discover which types of CBD products have been proven to work for certain conditions and symptoms.

More Products Equals More Education

The CBD industry is only going to be flooded with more and more products over the next few years, which is why you must educate yourself on the product as well as the market.  This way, when you wish to treat a specific ailment, you’ll know exactly what to purchase.
