Mr. Life Darrell Griffith, MSM serves as the Founder and Executive Director of Veterans Health Solution/First To Care and Chief Executive Officer of Xichel Hemp Consultants. VHS is a nonprofit public benefit corporation based in Atlanta, GA. XHC is a hemp consultancy firm based in Belize, Central America. VHS specializes in providing hemp education for veterans and the underserved community about the value of Hemp/CBD Oil as a natural holistic alternative solution for pain management and other acute medical conditions. XHC specializes in supporting local Belizeans who would like to enter the Hemp Industry in the country of Belize.
Prior to his current positions, Mr. Griffith served as a Legal Administrative Specialist & Minority Veteran Program Coordinator for the West Los Angeles Department of Veterans Affairs from 2012 to 2015. His responsibilities included serving as the primary contact for the veteran benefit programs and entitlement criteria, conducted interviews, identified pertinent issues, gathered relevant medical evidence, adjudicated claims, and processed data necessary to generate awards and notification letters for veteran payments. He was also responsible for sponsoring all minority veterans and their beneficiaries including briefing veteran organizations throughout the Los Angeles counties.
During his tenure, he notably established a world class customer service platform; renovated the benefit presentation agenda which added more veterans to its regional customer base; and grew the organization’s presence in the underserved veteran communities.
Mr. Griffith’s is widely recognized for his leadership style and has served in a broad assortment of leadership and staff positions while serving as a combat medic throughout his 19 year U.S. Army career. His early assignments included duty with the HHC 1st Battalion, 7th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division (Rock of the Marne), the 514 Medical Company, 36th Medical Battalion, the 7238 Medical Support Unit/ 8th Medical Brigade/Legal Division, the 170th Military Police/ 504th Battalion, the 168th Medical Company, 8th Medical Brigade.
As a public servant he served as Lead Medical supervisor for the Military Entrance Processing Center/Department of Defense and as a U.S. Army civilian contractor in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Task Force Hydra from 2011-2012.
His military education, award and decorations include the Primary Leadership Development Course, Emergency Medical Technician Course, Trauma AIMS and PHTLS Course. The Army Commendation medal, the Joint Service Achievement medal, (2) Army Achievement medals, (2) Good Conduct medals, the National Defense medal with bronze star, the NCOES medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Combat Medical Badge, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Army service ribbon, the Overseas service medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation medal with oak leaf cluster, the Army superior unit award, the Cold War Recognition Certificate and the French Commando Badge with fourragere.
Mr. Griffith is personally committed to service-based leadership, improving the lives of his fellow veterans, the underserved community and mentoring the youth. He is a tenacious leader in and is an active representative of The American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars, Disabled Veterans of America, and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
He holds a Master's of Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Leadership from the American College of Financial Services.
